The reason for establishing the CA and the idea of restoring our church is that we are the
branch of a parish which oversees two more Gothic churches which, of course, require more
attention. Therefore, it is more difficult to get a grant for our church where only the
Renaissance tower is protected.
Our church is different from other Gothic treasures in the neighbourhood. The mixture of
Gothic, Renaissance and the modern style makes it unique. A brighter space, an interesting
ceiling and house-made marble tiling became the basis of the study. The centre of our church
should be the apse which was usually decorated with mosaics and tuned to green-blue colours
in the early Christian churches. The statue of the St. Bartholomew, which was originally
placed on the side altar, was moved to the main altar. The study began to consider a larger
work of art that would create an artistic value, and, at the same time, it would clearly point out
to whom the church is dedicated. The apse would be arranged with interesting ceramic
elements that would solve the constant rehabilitation of the apse.
